Note – if you are comparing two wholes (e.g. how two different families spend their income), then you might wish to adjust the area of the circle to be proportional to the size of the whole. Since AREA is proportional to the SQUARE of the radius, you would need to choose a radius proportional to the SQUARE ROOT of the size of each whole (size of whole = income for one family).
